Bryan Goldberg

Active words are a strong part of a resume. They make a resume potent ,enable it grab, attention, and ultimately lead you to an interview.Your experience should be laden with words which demonstrate action and should reveal the impact of your effort .

Remember: EFFORT & OUTCOME.

You should stress on what you did, why you did and finally what it yielded. After all, this is what your resume has to show to the HR department that what you achieved in your previous work and how it will help in the job advertised.Rather than saying “I was incharge of audit” ,you should say “I audited accounts for my company..” Instead of stating” responsible for delivery of cargo” ,you should state “delivered cargo at the right place, at the right time”.

Use your knowledge of vocabulary to mention your record using a variety of words.Rather than saying responsible for this or responsible for that, use "entrusted with task of" etc..Just be creative and avoid repetition. There are many words which have the same meaning but by using different words, you can energize your resume.Remember, variety is the spice of life.

Rather than mentioning getting rates from market, you should say "surveyed the market and collected the rates".

As a call centre agent ,you should not say answered phones, you should mention "responded to queries of customers to improve customer services".

You should not write “yearly sales reports were generated by me”, instead you should state “I generated the yearly sales reports”.

These high-impact action words add power and punch to your resume.Remember,in many cases many applicants end up with the same credentials. For example in engineering many jobs like power generation, software design have many candidates applying with same skills and experience.Still, interviewers don’t summon all candidates, simply because the ones who get called have written powerful,action-packed resumes. The resume should not only tell about your experience, but also tell the employer about the type of person you are and how you are going to fill the void for which you have applied.

There are many action words that can boost your resume and give it the wings to get you called for that elusive interview. Here are 100 action words to help you in creating a super resume.
